Petrol, Diesel Price: Crude oil continues to decline, there is no effect on petrol-diesel prices here, see rate
There is no hope of further relief in the prices of petrol and diesel at the moment
On November 3, due to the reduction in petrol and diesel, they fell by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per liter respectively. Along with this, most of the states had also cut local tax or VAT, due to which the prices came down. However, it is another matter that due to this year’s unexpected hike, the prices had gone up so much that petrol is still being sold above Rs 100 in most of the major cities of the country.
At the same time, the possibility of making petrol-diesel cheaper by bringing them under GST is not visible far and wide. just last week Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that ‘petrol and diesel cannot be included in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless the GST Council fixes the rate for their inclusion’. In such a situation, there is no hope of getting further relief in the prices of petrol and diesel.
