The price of petrol and diesel in Maharashtra is increasing by two rupees from today. The state government on Saturday reduced the cess on petrol from Rs 8.12 to Rs 10.12 per liter. However, the price of cess on diesel has been increased from one rupee to three rupees. In Mizoram, VAT has been increased by five percent on petrol and 2.5 percent on diesel from today. Now the government is charging VAT on 25 petrol and 14.5 percent on diesel from today.

Apart from this, the increase in VAT in Jammu and Kashmir has increased the price of petrol by Rs 2 and the price of diesel by Rs 1 per liter. A liter of petrol in Jammu and Kashmir has been priced at Rs 75.87 and diesel has been priced at Rs 67.15. VAT on diesel and petrol has also been increased in the Himachal Pradesh government.
