Digital certificate making process
To get Digital Life Certificate from Umang App, download the app from Google Playstore. Now search for life proof in it. Then connect the biometric device to your mobile. Click on the option of “General Life Certificate” here. Here, your Aadhaar number and mobile number will appear in the Pension Authentication tab. If both things are correct then click on the generated OTP button. After doing this, OTP will come on your mobile. Fill in the app and submit it. Now scan your fingerprint with the help of a biometric device. The digital life certificate will be prepared when your thumbprints match the existing details. You can save it and submit a copy of it. If you want, you can mail a digital copy to the bank.
One can also submit certificate from SBI
SBI is also providing online facility for submitting life certificate. For this, visit the official website of the bank https://www.pensionseva.sbi/. Enter your User ID and log in. After this, enter your pension account number and date of birth (DoB) and branch code of the bank. After this, create your account by filling in the password. Now you will get all pension and account related services. After registration, mail will be sent to the pensioner’s email id. It will have a link for account activation. On clicking on it, the account will be activated. Now go to your bank’s website and complete the formulations to submit the life certificate.
