Venturing into the category of instant-friendly messaging apps, Google launched a new website for Hangouts on Tuesday. With a URL hangouts.google.com, the Hangouts website is solely dedicated to the users who enjoy messaging, video calling and voice calling either in a group or one-to-one conversation.
Sharing the news on his Google+ page, Google engineer Jordanna Chord wrote, “We are launching another way to use Hangouts today. From our new site, you’ll be able to take advantage of the best of Hangouts in the browser, along with an inspiring image to get you through the day. Check it out and let us know what you think.”
HOW TO GO
With the launch of this website, the user is free from the tedious tasks of logging in from either Google+ or Gmail account. The user can simply sign in into Hangouts through the above-mentioned website. Once you log in, the beautiful full-screen background would startle you. The picturesque background changes automatically after some time.
On the left side of the page is a list of people with whom you have been conversing. When you click on any one of them, a small box appears on the right side of the page, quite analogous to the experience of Hangouts on Gmail. Hence, connecting with family and friends is just a click away.
You can easily share photos, videos, and send emoticons and stickers just like any other messaging app, including Whatsapp. For quick sharing of photos, the chat box has an option to drag photos. In case of group messaging, not more than 100 people can be added. However, in case of video calling, the limit is 10.
On the extreme left side of the page is the Menu bar which contains contacts, conversations and phone calls. Besides, there is application download option for different software and a feedback and settings preference. To benefit from anytime and anywhere messaging experience, you have to sync Hangouts in your devices.
