Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme 2020: Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme was launched with an aim to improve the proportion of girls and promote their education. Maharashtra Government (Maharashtra Govt Schemes) launched the scheme on 1 April 2016. Under this scheme financial assistance is provided to the family on the birth of a daughter. To avail this scheme, it is necessary to be a native of the state.
If the mother or father undergoes family planning within one year of the birth of a girl child, the government will provide them a support amount of Rs 50,000. This amount will be deposited in the bank’s name. At the same time, after the second girl is born, after the sterilization, the names of both the girls will be deposited in the bank, 25000-25000 rupees.
Who will benefit
To avail this scheme, the family’s annual income should be Rs 7.5 lakh. For this, it is mandatory to undergo sterilization within 1 year after the birth of a daughter or within 6 months of the birth of another daughter. At the same time, the mother or father must be a resident of Maharashtra. Interest can be withdrawn only after the girl’s age is 6 years and 12 years. After completion of 18 years of age, both principal and interest can be withdrawn.
