Women of the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, giving competition to Corona, made 7 crore 47 lakh N-95 masks

Production of N-95 masks is in full swing in the country to combat Corona virus infection. Mask-making companies are producing 50 percent more than their capacity. At the same time, women’s self-help groups (SHGs) are also playing an important role by making more than seven and a half crore ordinary masks. The Prime Minister while addressing the country had said that by converting disaster into opportunity, he has achieved the capacity to produce two lakh N-95 masks daily.

6 companies are making masks verified from Bureau of Indian Standards

To increase the production of masks in the country and to coordinate between manufacturers and sellers, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs has prepared a website for this. According to the ministry’s data, at present there are 6 companies in the country making masks verified by the Bureau of Indian Standards. These companies have the capacity to manufacture 1,56,965 masks daily, but these companies are making more than two lakh 31 thousand masks daily.

Bureau of Indian Standards changed the testing process

The Bureau of Indian Standards has also changed the testing process to promote the manufacture of N-95 masks in the country. Companies wishing to manufacture N-95 masks can test their products in any BIS lab. With this, testing can also be done in organizations which have BIS license to test such products.

Andhra Pradesh women ahead

Women’s self-help groups are also playing an important role in preventing corona virus infection. Women have made 74 million masks. Most masks have been done by the women of Andhra Pradesh. He has made 2 crore 81 lakh masks. In the lowest Andaman and Nicobar women, only 5500 masks have been made. In Uttar Pradesh, 52 women support groups have made 30 lakh 36 thousand masks.

In Bihar, 38 groups made 18 lakhs, in Jharkhand 24 self-help groups made nine lakh 33 thousand and in Uttarakhand 13 SHGs of women made eight and a half lakh masks. All these figures on the ministry’s website are as of April 29. In such a situation, in the last twenty days, crores of masks have been made.
