Account opens at the age of 10 years
To open an account in the name of a daughter, she must be under 10 years of age. This account can be opened in any post office. It can be continued for 21 years after the account is opened or till the daughter is 18 years old. After this, after the daughter turns 18, up to 50 per cent can be withdrawn from this account for higher education or her marriage.

These documents are important
To open Sukanya Samriddhi account, daughter’s birth certificate, parent or guardian’s identity card, address proof and passport size photo will be required. Within 15 years of opening the account, you can get money in it. After this, you will continue to get interest on this for 6 years and that is 21 years.

Can get returns up to Rs 63 lakh
Under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, if you deposit Rs 1.5 lakh annually for 14 years, then the total investment amount will be Rs 21 lakh. According to 7.6% annual compounding on this, the amount will be Rs 37,98,225 due to interest on it for 14 years. After this, the remaining 7 years will get more interest on this amount. In such a situation, after 21 years, on maturity, this amount will be around 63,42,589 rupees.
