Share Market Today: Amidst mixed signals, the stock market fell, Nifty came below 15,800

Flat opening in stock markets, decline in early trade.

New Delhi:

Stock Market Updates : There has been a flat opening in the domestic stock markets on Tuesday. The domestic market has received mixed signals from the Asian markets. In the early trade, volatility is being seen in both the benchmark indices. Nifty 50 has fallen below its psychological level of 15,800. In the opening, the Sensex climbed 7.06 points or 0.01% and opened at 52742.65. At the same time, Nifty fell by 6.40 points or 0.04% and the index opened at 15808.30.

At 10.01 in the morning, the Sensex had fallen by 175.71 points, or 0.33%, and the index was at the level of 52,559.88. During this, Nifty remained at the level of 15,764.00 with a fall of 50.70 points or 0.32%.

Only 12 shares of Sensex were open in green mark and 11 sectors of Nifty were trading in green mark. The FMCG index had gained 0.65 per cent. Business was also being seen in IT, Media, Pharma, Realty and Auto with an increase in the opening.

The biggest gain of one percent in the Sensex was in Asian Paints. Apart from this, PowerGrid, L&T, TCS, Reliance Industries, HCL Tech and ITC were also trading with gains. On the other hand, ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank and Infosys were in the red.

In Asian markets, shares of Asia Pacific fell 0.11 per cent on MSCI. Australia’s ASX/200 index fell 0.76 per cent and Nikkei 0.91 per cent. The Kospi was down 0.39 per cent and Chinese stocks were down 1.06.

In the previous session, the Sensex closed 189.45 points or 0.36 per cent lower at 52,735.59, while the Nifty closed 45.65 points or 0.29 per cent lower at 15,814.70. According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,658.72 crore on Monday.

Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.55 percent lower at $73.73 per barrel.
