Ola Electric Scooters: The much awaited Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro launch.

Ola Electric finally launched its much awaited electric scooter (Ola Electric Scooter) has been launched. The company on Sunday launched its electric scooter in two variants – Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. The scooters will be available for sale from September for the customers who wish to buy this vehicle from the ride aggregator company. That is, they will be able to book from September. After this, deliveries are expected to start from October. Two types of battery options have been given in these scooters. Ola S1 has a battery of 2.98kWh. At the same time, the Ola S1 Pro has a battery of 3.97kWh. Both models will get a peak power of 8.5kW.

Features of Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro

The Ola S1 is powered by a 2.98kWh battery which, according to the company, gives a range of 121 kms and a top speed of 90 kmph. The company claims that the Ola S1 can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.6 seconds. Different riding modes have been given in the electric scooters of Ola. The S1 has two riding modes – Normal and Sports.

Ola S1 Pro has a battery of 3.97kWh. Giving it an ‘optional performance upgrade accessory’, the company has claimed that this model gives a range of 181 km and a top speed of 115 kmph. The company has claimed acceleration of 0 to 40 kmph in 3 seconds. It has three different riding modes – Normal, Sports and Hyper.

The Ola S1 will be available in five colours, while the Ola S1 Pro will come with a choice of 10 colours.

In these scooters, customers will not need a physical key. It has the facility of automatic locking and unlocking. The customer has to pair his phone with this and whenever the phone is near the scooter, it can be locked or unlocked only with it. It also has a battery management system, which will keep monitoring things like the durability, performance of the battery.

Voice command feature and touchscreen display

In these scooters, the customer will get cool features like 7-inch touchscreen display and voice command feature. The touchscreen display will have multiple microphones and AI speech recognition algorithm and will run on Ola Electric’s MoveOS. It has a vehicle control unit (VCU) running on an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The scooter’s sound also gets four configuration modes – Bolt, Care, Vintage and Wonder. There is also a voice command feature in it, which will be able to take commands without the user touching the touchscreen.

Equipped with many safety features

Many safety features have been added to these scooters, which include features of anti-theft alert system and geo-fencing. Apart from being water and dust resistant, its battery also competes with flame retardant i.e. fire. The S1 Pro also gets the Hill-Hold feature with front and rear disc brakes.

what is the price

The ex-showroom price of Ola S1 in India has been fixed at ₹99,999 and the ex-showroom price of Ola S1 Pro at ₹1,29,999. However, the prices will vary from state to state. These scooters can also be purchased on EMI starting from Rs 2,999.

According to the company, the sale of scooters will start from September 8, 2021. Delivery will start in over 1,000 cities in October. Customers will be able to book their scooter for an amount of Rs 499.
