Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Tuesday announced the introduction of the service of booking LPG through WhatsApp across the country for the convenience of customers. It is placed in the disinvestment list of the country’s second largest petroleum distribution company. The company has 7.10 crore LPG customers. “From Tuesday, customers of Bharat Gas (LPG brand name of BPCL) located all over the country can book cooking gas cylinders from anywhere through WhatsApp,” BPCL said in a statement. The company has said that it has started a new WhatsApp business channel for booking cylinders.

The company has said in the statement that this booking on WhatsApp can be done on BPCL smartline number –1800224344 – from the mobile number registered with the customer’s company. BPCL Marketing Director Arun Singh released this app, saying, “Customers will be more comfortable with this provision of booking LPG through WhatsApp. WhatsApp is now quite common among the common people. Whether young or old, everyone uses it and with this new start we will get closer to our customers.

Executive Director of the company, LPG in-charge T. Pithambaram said that after booking through WhatsApp, the customer will get the message of booking. Along with this, he will get a link on which he can also pay through debit or credit card, UPI and other payment apps like Amazon. He said that the company is also looking at new steps like keeping an eye on LPG delivery and taking their feedback from customers about it. In the coming days, the company will provide more facilities along with security awareness to the customers.
