Market Live: Stock market gains, Sensex-Nifty pick up, IndiGo shares fly

The domestic stock market today started with a green mark. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex opened 85 points higher at 30904 on Thursday, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty started trading today at 9,079. Aviation shares are seeing gains of up to 10 per cent in early trade on Thursday following the government’s announcement to resume domestic passenger flight services from May 25. On the BSE, Interglobe Aviation, ie IndiGo’s stock jumped Rs 110.50 (12.12%) to 1,022.40. SpiceJet too jumped 4.88 percent to Rs 42.95. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that domestic passenger flight services will resume from May 25. Puri tweeted, “Domestic flights will be resumed operationally from May 25, 2020. All airports and aviation companies are being informed to be ready for operations from 25 May. All commercial passenger flights to India were suspended from March 25 to prevent the corona virus epidemic.

In early trade, there is tremendous buying in shares of BAJAJ-AUTO. After the fourth quarter results, its shares are seeing a gain of 4.80 percent today. At the same time, 3.51 percent in Infratel and 1.65 percent in UPL. Stocks of HDFC Bank and GAIL are also on the green mark. Stocks like Grasim, Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Port and NTPC are looking weak on the Nifty.

Investors will have to tell how the corona affected the business

SEBI issued a circular stating that listed companies should evaluate the impact of Kovid-19 on their business. Information, both quality and quantitative, should be made available to investors. SEBI has also asked listed companies not to be selective while giving information about the impact of Kovid-19.

The 30-share sensitive index Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange jumped 622 points to close at 30,818.61. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty climbed 187.45 points to close at 9,066.55. All sectoral indices like Bank Nifty, Private Bank, PSU, Reality, IT, Media closed on the green mark. Pharma sector saw the maximum increase. Today it has increased by more than 4 percent.
