New Delhi. The Income Tax Department will launch a new income tax filing portal on 7 June, so the existing portal will be closed for 6 days from 1 to 6 June. According to the circular, officers including AO, CIT (A) etc. get information for the taxpayers from the portal.
Issued guidelines
In order to protect taxpayers from any kind of inconvenience, the department will not set any compliance dates during this period. Further, to give time to the taxpayers for the purpose of providing feedback on the new system, the taxpayers have been issued hearing or compliance guidelines from June 10, 2021 only. The scheduled hearing or compliance during this period, which needs to be presented online, will be done ahead of time or postponed and the work scheduled for later than this period.

Information given to these units as well
The department has informed banks, MCA, GSTN, DPIIT, CBIC, GEM, DGFT, other units which provide facilities like PAN verification etc., about the non-availability of services and to ensure that their customers / stakeholders are made aware Has been requested, so that any necessary activity can be completed before or after the blackout period.
The department pleaded with the people
The department has requested to be patient till the full implementation of the new e-filing portal and all the taxpayers and other stakeholders during the initial period to keep pace with the new system. This is another initiative of CBDT to provide easy compliance to taxpayers and other stakeholders. Explain that the aim of the new e-filing portal is to provide a convenient, uninterrupted experience to the taxpayers. All necessary actions related to any type of entry, upload or download are encouraged to be done before June 1, 2021, to avoid any kind of problem during the blackout.
