Flipkart gave employment to 23 thousand people amidst second wave of Kovid 1

Bengaluru Flipkart has hired 23,000 people in its supply chain, including delivery officers, in the last three months amid a second wave of Kovid. Flipkart wants to strengthen the supply chain to rapidly distribute its products in the e-commerce marketplace. The company said in a statement that the hiring was done keeping in mind the increasing demand for e-commerce services across the country, as people continue to stay indoors to fight the epidemic, leading to a supply chain boom.

Facilities will be given to employees
Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain at Flipkart said that all new employees will be covered with our healthcare and wellness initiative to ensure their safety during these testing times. From security rules and protocols in their warehouses to raising awareness of Kovid security behavior, the company is also running its training programs to directly hire in various aspects of the supply chain.

This plan for the next three months
Flipkart announced this month to promote its grocery supply chain infrastructure to provide its customers with safe and seamless access to ordering daily essential items through quick and contactless doorstep delivery. As part of the plan, Flipkart will add more than 8 lakh square feet of space through five new fulfillment centers in the next three months.

It will be easy to shop in these cities
With this additional infrastructure, the market will facilitate online grocery shopping for more users in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. This will help Flipkart to fulfill more than 73,000 grocery orders per day. Last month, the e-commerce company expanded the capacity of grocery supply centers in Lucknow, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Patna. It currently places around 64,000 orders a day.
