Bus and Car Trapped as Road Caves In Chennai, No Causality Reported
Chennai: Mount road caved in. An MTC Bus and a car near the Anna Salai flyover stuck in the middle of the road on Sunday afternoon. Metro work is going on around the road. It is believed that due to this the accident happened. Although there were no casualties in the crash, the traffic has been diverted off the road.
The bus that went from Anna Square to Vadapalani suddenly stopped near the flyover. When the driver of the bus realized the situation, he thought that the bus’s tire had been punctured, but when he saw that the bus was continuously rolling down, he asked all the passengers immediately to get down from the bus. After hearing the driver’s voice, all the passengers immediately got down on the bus and went straight into the road.
At the same time, a car passing beside the bus also got hit by the way. The speed of the car was slow, so people sitting in it did not get injuries. The police reached the spot and sieged the place and diverted the traffic passing from there to the Kamaraj Salai. Tamil Nadu Finance Minister D. Jayakumar took stock of the situation and said that it might be due to loose soil that caused the accident.
This incident happened in Chennai for the first time. However, the work of Metro Rail has been going on since 2009. We will use this accident as an experience and will take precautions to prevent such incidents from further. Said the minister. The minister said that the work of repairing the road by removing the car and bus is underway and the situation is expected to be restored by Monday evening.
