Road transport was already expensive due to petrol and diesel, now air travel within the country (Domestic air fare will increase) is also going to be expensive. In fact, the central government has approved an increase in the minimum ceiling of airfares by 16 percent. The ceiling on airfares has been increased from 13 to 16 percent. An order in this regard has been issued by the Ministry of Aviation on Friday. This increase in air travel fare will come into effect from June 1. However, the ceiling on airfare has not been changed. With this decision, air travelers thinking of traveling by air for a safe journey regarding Corona will be shocked.

This move of the central government will help the airline companies, which are facing the restrictions related to the Corona period. Due to the second wave of Corona, there has been a huge reduction in the number of air passengers, whose earnings of airlines have decreased. The lower and upper limits of air travel fare have been fixed based on the air flight duration in the country. This limit was fixed at the time of the opening of the 2 month lockdown last year on 25 May.

In an order of the Ministry of Aviation on Friday, the lower limit of fare for air flight up to 40 minutes has been increased from Rs 2300 to Rs 2600, i.e. it has been increased by 13 percent. Similarly, for the flight duration of 40 minutes to 60 minutes, the lower fare limit will now be Rs 3,300 per passenger instead of Rs 2900.
