A walk through the specs of Mi 5, Galaxy S7 & LG G5 Launched at MWC 2016

MWC 2016 event saw some of the hottest phones of the year taking off. Samsung Galaxy S7, Mi 5 and LG G5 are three of them with features varying minutely. Going ahead, a comparative description of each phone with respect to different features is discussed.

Dimensions: Galaxy S7 is of size 5.61 x 2.74 x 0.31 inches and is different from Mi 5 which measures 5.69 x 2.72 x 0.29 inches. LG G5 on the other hand is of size 5.88 x 2.91 x 0.30 inches. While Xiami’s model appears to be the thinnest of the three, LG is the broadest of all.

Weight: LG G5 has the maximum weight of all the three. It weighs 159 grams and is followed by 152 gram weighing Samsung phone. The lightest of all is Xiaomi Mi 5 weighing a clean 129 grams.

Display: The common feature shard by LG G5 as well as Galaxy S7 is the resolution, i.e., 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The display size of LG G5 differs from S7 as G5 has a 5.3 inch Quad HD display whereas S7 is of 5.1 inch Quad HD screen. Pixels per inch for LG are 554 while it is 577 for S7. Xiaomi stands away as Mi 5 has a 5.15 inch Quad HD screen with pixel density 428 ppi. The resolution occurs to be 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Processor: All the three smartphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is indeed the latest. Some of the models of Samsung Galaxy S7 are known to be powered by Exynos 8890 SoC based on the region of the world that it gets released in. while both LG G5 and Samsung S7 carry a 4 GB RAM, Xiaomi Mi 5 has 3 GB RAM in the 32 GB and 64 GB models and 4 GB RAM in the 128 GB ceramic version.

Camera: LG G5 is loaded with a 16 MP rear camera and a wide angle shooter of 8 MP. On the other hand, Galaxy S7 carries a 12 MP Primary camera and Xiaomi Mi 5 carries a 16 MP rear camera. The most wanted features namely support OIS, dual LED flash and autofocus are commonly shared by all the three models. G5 has an 8 MP front camera thus taking over the 5 MP and the 4 MP front cameras of S7 and Mi 5 respectively.

Storage: LG G5 comes with a fixed storage capacity of 32 GB whereas S7 has an option of 32 GB and 64 GB for the buyers. Even better is Mi 5 that gives 3 options of 32 GB, 64 GB as well as 128 GB. Expandable memory of up to 200 GB is in fact supported by all the three models.

Battery: LG G5 is equipped with a 2800 mAh removable battery but Mi 5 and S7 are fitted with batteries that cannot be removed but are of capacity 3000 mAh.

Operating system: The pre-loaded Android 6.0 Marshmallow version powers all the three smartphones.
More features: All the phones also have a fingerprint sensor fitted in common. S7 proudly boasts about its IP68 certified dust and water resistance capacity. S7 also offers a feature similar to Apple’s Live Photos and is known as Motion Photo. LG has thrown more light on modules to be attached to the smartphone.

Colors: S7 comes in four colors namely black, white, gold and silver. G5 comes in Silver, Gold, Titan and pink. Mi 5 comes in three colors: Gold, Black and white with a ceramic touch up.
Release: One can await the release of Samsung Galaxy S7 on March 11, LG G5 during April and Xiaomi Mi 5 in March.
